While Carbon Copy Cloner is a popular Mac backup program, even more common is the old but trusted rsync utility. In fact, as we just discovered, Carbon Copy Cloner actually uses rsync on its backend to perform backups. While CCC is a great program, rsync is ubiquitous and powerful, and very handy for basic backups and data mirroring.
